I launched Magnolia & Ivy Consulting in 2016 to provide quality business support to non-profit organizations in my local community. I wanted a way to parlay my organizational and marketing skills to help others raise their level of professionalism and improve their results.

But Very Fun Facts About Me

I'm a southern girl with no trace of a southern accent. Really. I have a "broadcaster's voice" I've been told. I think it's because my mother was an English teacher and was totally obsessed with perfect grammar and pronunciation, thus my complete devotion to the English language. That and the fact that I moved from the south when I was young and lived in several places including Wisconsin, Chicago, New York, and Boston probably also contributed.
I think it's arrogant to believe that we are the only inhabitants of this universe. I mean, really, how can that even be possible? I am positive there are higher-level forms of life that are laughing at us pitiful humans.
I have a total and complete phobia of pipes. Nope, I will not put my head under the kitchen sink and you won't find me on an abandoned set of Terminator! I have no idea where this originated but there's a dark basement in one of the engineering buildings on the campus of Cornell University that still gives me the heebee-jeebies whenever I think about how it used to terrify me.
I studied engineering before changing my major in my junior year to marketing. (yeah, you did not want me building your bridge...)
I studied business ethics in Rome, Italy during graduate school and became completely enamored with the culture, people, architecture, and style of conducting business in Europe.
I love the beach! My ultimate goal is to move to a beach house and live a laptop lifestyle. I got a taste of this a couple of summers ago as our house was being renovated which allowed us to move to the beach for a few weeks and I loved it! Waves are my muse.
I'm an only child but I'm not egotistical, selfish, or any of the other stereotypes of only children EXCEPT I crave my alone time each day to rejuvenate my spirit.
I'm an avid tennis player in amateur leagues and I've played since I was six years old. My cross court forehand is my power shot and I channel Serena Williams while I play. My goal is to attend every major grand slam event across the world.

My professional experience and skills are a unique fusion of launch and project plan development, marketing strategies, automation of processes, leadership, team building, and communication. And my diverse experience and outlook are typically advantageous to my clients.

As a fellow business owner, my number one goal is to support my clients and help them connect with their vision and deeper purpose by guiding them through the actionable steps of managing and growing their business.
I understand the need to be supported as you provide support to your own clients. You need the confidence that you have the type of strategic partner to organize and run your business and manage the to-do’s and I can help you with this.
I am deeply committed to nurturing my mindset and skills and I invest time regularly in courses and materials to increase my industry knowledge so that I am empowered to share my gifts and remain excited to live a life of joy and abundance by doing what I love.
My biggest strength is communication and my clients would agree. I am a natural-born communicator verbally, in written form, or expressed creatively. I've been a keynote speaker, presenter, and teacher. I've written everything from press releases, webinar scripts, email sequences, sales pages, website content, blogs, articles, and social media content. I utilize a number of tools to effectively communicate with others including Asana, Slack, email, text, Zoom, Google Meet, Loom, etc.
I am a collaborator. I work best in a cooperative team environment with hard-working, balanced, smart, and fun people where there is synergy and everyone is working within their zone of genius.
My leadership style is cooperative coaching which means I provide the goals, guidance, and accountability while allowing team members the margin and flexibility to complete their tasks and share their best selves. I understand how crucial the recruiting and hiring process is to build the best team that supports your business needs.
I am very much a self-initiator. I've rarely had the privilege of tasks being spelled out and simply handed to me. Typically clients need me to come in, quickly assess the situation, uncover problems and opportunities, and jump in right away to provide solutions. I thrive on this and hand-holding is completely unnecessary! It is this type of leadership that my clients rely on. They knew I am committed to their vision which allows us to work more like partners.
I have experience in many industries including technology, healthcare, education, non-profit, real estate, e-commerce, and the coaching world. My most recent roles include managing the strategies, automation, marketing, team management, and project launches of several coaches and a subscription box business.
I am addicted to project plans! Seriously, they inspire me as well as keep me uber-organized! Before I learned the power of a project planning tool like Asana, Trello, or Teamwork, I was trying to keep tasks, information, milestones, and team tasks all in my notebook and email. It was madness and I was always overwhelmed but project planning has now become my foundation for everything I do even within my own business and it is how I manage all client business.
I'm pretty tech-savvy and have worked on various content management platforms including Bucket.io, WordPress, Clickfunnels, and Leadpages, e-commerce platforms such as Woocommerce, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, and essential systems like Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Active Campaign, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Klaviyo, etc. What I don't know, I have the confidence to fill my gaps.
